Listen to the feeling.
A short study of emotional expression in speech.
Before you begin
You’ll hear 16 groups of three short clips. Allow around 15–25 minutes, use headphones, and keep your playback volume at a comfortable, fixed level.
- Judge emotional strength in the delivery, not just volume.
- Give equal ranks when clips feel equally intense. “Cannot decide” is a valid answer.
- Some speech may sound artificial or end abruptly. Tell us when it does.
- Work independently. Don’t inspect audio filenames, site source, or discuss answers before finishing.
Participation is voluntary. You may stop at any point. We collect clip ratings, optional notes, playback-completion flags, and time spent—not your name, email, or voice. Completed responses are saved privately for the research team. Hugging Face may process technical hosting logs. A draft stays in this browser until you clear it.
Which delivery feels more emotionally intense?
Listen to all three clips. Rank emotional strength from 1 (weakest) to 3 (strongest). Reuse a rank for a tie; for example, 1 / 1 / 3.
Identify the emotion you hear, even if it differs between clips. Neutral means little or no distinct emotion. Naturalness: 1 = very artificial, 5 = very natural.
